Barry Roubaix 2025 Recap

Barry Roubaix Recap: Gravel, Grit, and Snack-Fueled Chaos

Two weeks later and we’re still finding dust in our socks. Barry Roubaix was wild…in the best way. It’s the biggest single-day gravel race in the WORLD, and this year the Coyotes rolled in with snacks packed, legs prepped and absolutely zero chill.

It started cold. Like, “why are we doing this again?” cold. But then the sun came out, layers flew off and our crew sent it into spring race mode like a pack of hungry, slightly over-caffeinated squirrels.

36 Mile Crew:

Boys 11-18

  • Camden DeJong – 15th
Quiet. Fast. Probably has gravel for breakfast.
  • Sawyer Willink – 30th
Told a joke at the start line, passed three people mid-laugh.
  • Jakob Boer – 31st
Brought stealth mode. Also brought snacks. Respect.
  • Max Clemo – 53rd
Max rides like he’s chasing the last donut at the aid station.

Girls 11-18

  • Reese Drajka – 1st
Laser-focused. Might be part machine. Definitely part awesome.
  • Sadie James – 3rd
If “grit” had a face, it would be Sadie’s post-race grin.
  • Sammy Weaver – 5th
Smiled the whole time. Unclear if it was joy or gummy worms.
  • Kaitlyn Tungl – 17th
Strong legs. Stronger snack game. Tactical queen.
  • Ocean Trierweiler – 20th
Zoomed, cheered, probably made friends with a tree.

18 Mile Squad:

Boys 14-18

  • Easton Roberts – 3rd
Podium’d before breakfast. Absolute menace on gravel.
  • Hudson Roberts – 10th
Launched out of the start like his shoes were on fire.
  • Tyler Veley – 16th
Calm, cool, probably solving math equations while racing.

Boys 13 and Under

  • Cruz Woodbury – 2nd
Sent it like his lunch depended on it. (It might’ve.)
  • Owen Rookus – 14th
Took corners like a video game character. 10/10 would watch again.
  • James Broughton – 15th
Showed up low-key. Left high-fiving strangers.
  • Gunnar Larson – 17th
Vibed his way through 18 miles. May have invented a new sport.
  • Sawyer Weaver – 32nd
Rocked a big smile and 14 types of snacks. A win in our book.

Girls 13 and Under

  • Harper Roberts – 2nd
Tiny but mighty. Crushed it, then asked for cookies.
  • Alida Ward – 12th
Brought chill energy and a snack pouch like a legend.
  • Lola Clemo – 13th
Zipped through the course with a giggle and a plan.

Tandem Madness:

  • Drew and Anneke – 7th
Two humans, one bike, zero hesitation. Possibly telepathic.
  • Andy and Winnie – 14th
Laughed the whole way and somehow ate more snacks than their competitors. Tandem wizardry.

Barry Roubaix was sunny, dusty and glorious. Huge thanks to all the parents, coaches and snack distributors who made the day a win, no matter the result.

Coyotes out.
