Threats of rain, a return to the time-trial format, and an unfamiliar course might sound like a recipe for a challenging day. For the Coyotes, it was just another great weekend to race mountain bikes. The course at Milford is sneaky-technical, without any substantial obstacles, no major climbs, but plenty of places to lose speed (or gain it) through line selections. The pipeline stretch that was rebuilt in an emergency last year was fully baked-in this year, and riders reported maximum fun on the downhill sections. We owe a message of thanks to the Huron Valley team that ensured the trail was ready for race day. Their hard work showed.
In the team competition, our H.S. riders were victorious for the 5th race in a row, powered by three podium finishes (Luke, Anabel, Madine) with Addison and Bryce just off the podium. At the elementary level, our upper elementary girls took 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, narrowly missing another podium sweep but firmly asserting their dominance over the field.
