Race(s) Recap: Ore-2-Shore & Cereal City Triathlon

Coyotes were busy this weekend with action from Battle Creek to the UP!

Ore-2-Shore MTB Epic (Negaunee, Ispheming, Marquette)

I tried to find all the Coyotes (and parents) that toed the line in the UP this weekend. If I missed you, shoot me an email and we’ll get you added to this post!

The Ore2Shore is one of Michigan’s biggest and most well-known events, drawing racers from across the state (and the Midwest) to the Upper Peninsula, where our trails are gnarlier, the hills are taller, and the temperatures a little cooler than downstate. After a year off for COVID, racers were excited to get back to racing against 2,500 of their friends. The event is even more special because most of it is on private land, meaning you cannot pre-ride it. Way to go everyone!

Coyotes Results:

  • Levi Minnerick – 26th, Men 12-15 – Soft Rock Race (28 mile point-to-point)
  • Caleb McLean – 5th – Men 11-12 – Shore Rock (10 miler)
  • Brayden Todd – 6th – Men 15-19 – Shore Rock (10 miler)
  • Landen Todd – 9th – Men 13-14 – Shore Rock (10 miler)

Calbe’s mom Lisa rode as well and sent us some great photos. Congrats on your podium finish Lisa!

Cereal City Kids Triathlon

The Cereal City KIDS Triathlon is a non-timed triathlon geared specifically for kids ages 4-13. Kids swim, bike and run within and around Willard Beach Park. Just because it’s not timed doesn’t mean kids aren’t out to rip, and our own Chema Galvez knocked out a win this weekend. Pictures below:
