If you missed this weekend at Stony Creek, let me just say…you missed everything! The Coyotes hit a course that was basically an MTB amusement park on steroids—like, if Disneyland and a rollercoaster had a wild love child that could shred! We’re talking trails so flowy they could make a river jealous, rocks galore that had you questioning whether you were biking or auditioning for Survivor: Boulder Edition, and root drops that made our suspensions beg for a vacation in the Bahamas. Stony Creek threw down the gauntlet, and the Coyotes grabbed it like, “Hold my donut, we got this!” 🍩
Did I mention we’re still clinging to that Middle School and Elementary series lead like it’s the last donut in the box? Trust me, we are not letting go! The Coyotes are out here treating the series like their personal playground—swinging from the monkey bars, launching into the ball pit of victory, and probably trying to ride the seesaw with a bear! Over in JV Female, Sadie is leading the pack, too! If you’re not cheering yet, you might need another cup of coffee, because these kids are basically rewriting the Coyote record books, one epic moment at a time!
Now for the moments you’ve been waiting for! Buckle up, because it’s time for absolute chaos that keeps this team as wild as a raccoon at a picnic on a sugar high! Sadie and Ocean owned the JV Female category, snatching 1st and 2nd like they were taking candy from the baby I posted on social media last week (sorry, baby!). Their victory dance could’ve sparked an entire flash mob, think synchronized swimming but on bikes and with more glitter! I’m talking a glitter bomb went off and a disco ball just appeared!
Sadie didn’t just take the top spot; she pulled off a wipeout so dramatic it could’ve been featured in a soap opera! She dusted herself off like she was shaking off confetti and zoomed back to take 1st like it was all part of her brilliant master plan. Seriously, talk about a plot twist worthy of an Oscar! I half expected her to pull out a trophy for Best Dramatic Performance right there on the podium. Cue the dramatic music!
And let’s talk about Sue and Autumn, who were running over to the exit staging area screaming like they just won the lottery! I’m pretty sure I need my hearing checked after that ear-splitting celebration. Their cheers could probably be heard all the way back to the snack table…if only we could harness that energy for renewable power! 😂 I mean, I’m convinced I’ll be hearing their excitement echoing in my dreams for weeks to come!
Meanwhile, Ocean was busy throwing a birthday bash, Coyote-style. And by “Coyote-style,” I mean her teammates armed themselves with cans of whipped cream for a full-on whipped cream ambush! Who needs cake when you have a team that can turn you into a sundae on wheels? Imagine the scene: laughter, whipped cream flying everywhere, and Ocean standing there like a dessert queen, basking in her creamy glory. It was a birthday celebration for the ages—move over, Pinterest; the Coyotes are here to redefine party planning!
Meanwhile, Ray decided mid-race that cracking his carbon wheel would be a fun plot twist. He tried to call it a day, but nah…Coyotes don’t quit. He took a time penalty, snatched neutral support’s pump, and sent it to the finish with all the Coyote grit we’ve come to expect. And let’s talk about Hadley. She had a gnarly crash on lap two, but did she call it quits? No way. She finished in 3rd and went straight for stitches afterward, because if you’re gonna be tough, you might as well be rad, too!
Coach Ryan was back with his now-famous nutrition tips, which this weekend was basically just: “snacks, and lots of them.” These kids are fueled by sugar and pure adrenaline, while us parents are clinging to our caffeine like it’s a lifeboat. But let’s get real, the snack table doesn’t just magically show up. Huge shoutout to Katrina and Sue, the snack squad dream team this season, whose culinary wizardry has elevated race day fuel to five-star snack heaven. If you haven’t pitched in yet, here’s your shot! Only one race left to bring your snack A-game!
And let’s not forget that everyone needs to pitch in! Don’t be that “I’m too busy” or “I don’t know where to help” person. If you can’t make it to the last race, you can still be a hero by joining the food committee for the year-end party. It takes a whole team of snack-slinging, sugar-wielding parents to make these race days happen. Katrina and Sue, you’re our snack MVPs, but we need all hands on deck!
Oh, and we finally hung up our senior banners, thanks to Yidzza’s design magic, and they look amazing. Pride level: through the roof! And our littlest ripper, Alexander? He got a brand new set of wheels, and now he’s so fast I swear he’s leaving scorch marks on the trails. Good luck trying to catch him on video as he’s basically a blur on two wheels!
Now, if you’re still here and not already racing to refill your coffee, here’s a taste of the action-packed results:
Varsity Male was a thrill to watch, with Drake Marine spinning his way to a solid 11th place. He took on every root and rock like they owed him money, flying over the trail with that Coyote grit. Ray Muehlenz rolled in at 34th after handling Stony Creek like a total pro, he may have looked chill, but we all know there’s a fire burning under that helmet! These guys kept it steady, showing us that the Coyote pack’s got serious heart and hustle.
Over in JV Male 11th-12th Grade, Gavin Peters held it down with a strong 12th place, tackling each twist and turn with laser focus and leaving a cloud of dust for anyone behind him. Meanwhile, Bridger Hoogeveen made his way in at 40th, likely still channeling the grape-fed, lucky-sleeve mojo from last weekend’s pre-race royal treatment. It’s hard to follow up that kind of energy—legend says he’s still riding those grape vibes!
For JV Male 9th-10th Grade, Easton Roberts took 6th, possibly still hyped from Coach Tobi’s “plug-and-run” rescue last week. Camden De Jong wasn’t far behind, rocking a solid finish yet in 10th, showing everyone that he’s here to make his mark.
On the JV Female side, Sadie James wasn’t just crushing it, she’s taken the series lead with a fierce 1st place finish and Ocean Trierweiler claimed 2nd, celebrating her birthday in true Coyote style. We’re talking whip cream, singing, and a team that doesn’t hold back on the fun.
The Advanced Middle School Male squad? Total power move. Luke Dewall took 2nd, Tristan Hubbard was right behind in 5th, Will Hughes powered to 7th, and Owen Rookus rolled in at 14th. These boys put on a show, reminding everyone that Coyotes don’t just race; they dominate.
For Advanced Middle School Female, Reese Drajka took 1st and Sammy Weaver claimed 2nd, marking another Coyote takeover at the top. Laila Hubbard finished strong in 6th, and Kaitlyn Tungl wrapped it up in 8th. The Coyotes owned that podium like royalty!
Novice 10th-12th Grade Male was nothing short of a comedy action flick, with Kaden Spitters grabbing 1st place like he was running late for free donuts at the finish line. Hudson Roberts cruised in at 6th, cool as a cucumber, probably wondering why the rest of us were sweating. Sam Bazuin and Clark Workman rounded out the field in 12th and 19th, each putting in epic efforts to keep the Coyote pride high and the competition thoroughly dusted. They raced like the trails owed them money, and trust me, they collected!
In Novice 8th Grade Male, Tyler Veley brought in a solid 17th, while in Novice 7th Grade Male, the Coyotes nearly swept the podium: Sawyer Willink took 3rd, Jakob Boer claimed 4th, and Calvin Host secured 5th. Talk about a Coyote lockout!
Novice 6th Grade Male was just as wild, with Max Clemo taking 5th, followed by Liam Cox in 11th, Gunnar Larson in 12th, Ryland Modzeleski in 14th, Dylan Grenier in 16th, and Finn O’Byrne wrapping it up in 20th.
The Novice 6th-8th Grade Female crew was led by Harper Roberts, who snagged 3rd, and Ellie Pankey finished in 15th, keeping the Coyote energy strong.
In Advanced Elementary Male, James Broughton snagged 3rd like he was born for it, making every pedal stroke look like part of a master plan. Right on his tail was Easton Johnson in 4th, clearly on a mission and probably plotting how he’ll snatch a spot higher next time. Raylan Hansma brought the power, rounding out the team with a strong 7th place, reminding everyone that Coyotes run in packs—and they don’t mess around. These boys didn’t just ride; they owned that trail like they’d built it themselves.
And let’s talk about our Advanced Elementary Female superstar, Hadley Ruch! After a gnarly crash, did she throw in the towel? Nope! She dusted herself off, charged back onto the course, and claimed 3rd place like it was all part of her plan. Then, in true Coyote fashion, she strolled off for some battle scars—stitches, to be exact. If anyone’s taking the “tough as nails” title this season, it’s Hadley. She might just be part superhero!
For Elementary 5th Grade Male, Michael Eicher snagged 7th, and Alda Ward took 12th for Elementary 5th Grade Female.
In Elementary 4th Grade Male, Camden Host flew into 3rd, Ryder Pankey took 5th, and Aksel Hillen wrapped things up in 29th.
Our Elementary 4th Grade Female racers were just as strong, with Amelia Cox grabbing 10th and Fiona O’Byrne crossing in 14th.
For Elementary 2nd-3rd Grade Male, Sawyer Weaver snagged 5th, Finn Cote came in 32nd, Caleb Grenier took 39th, and Miles Eicher finished 43rd.
And finally, in Elementary 2nd-3rd Grade Female, Aspen Trierweiler took 5th, Gracelyn Host placed 6th, Lucy Clemo 14th, Rainey Broughton 17th, and Winnie Richardson 21st.
In PreK-1st Grade Male, Wyatt Johnson sped into 5th, Titus Broughton took 7th, and Matthew Gallagher rounded it out in 25th. Future Coyotes? You bet.
