Who we are
The West Michigan Coyotes are a youth mountain biking team based in Michigan. Our parent club is the West Michigan Coast Riders. Our website contains information about our club, our race schedule and our team.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
We collect email addresses of parents, riders, coaches and family members of riders. No other personal data is collected. Our email newsletter signup clearly explains that we only want team community members to sign up. We also do our best to review signups before they are confirmed as members of the newsletter. We do provide an unsubscribe link and profile management for the newsletter.
Media
Images on our site should only ever be uploaded by site administrators (coaches, parents). Every team member signs a media release form before joining the team.
Cookies
If you have an account and you log in to this site (e.g. parent newsletter members), we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
We don’t share your data with anyone except coaches. Your data is only collected so that we can email you information about team events, results, practices, photos, etc. We do not sell your data or share it with any companies at all.
How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. This data is retained as long as your email newsletter subscription is active.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Please note that erasing your personal data also means you will no longer receive updates about the Coyotes from our email newsletter. Storage of data is required for membership in the parent email list. You are not obligated to participate in this email list, thus you are not obligated to store data with us.
Where we send your data
We do not send your data anywhere other than spam detection services from time to time. This data is not stored remotely and is only shared to detect spam.
Your contact information
We store the information shown on the newsletter signup page.
